The Hype of Lebanese Prepared Meals
Lebanese food comes from a country called Lebanon, which is close to the Mediterranean Sea. People in Lebanon love to cook meals that are full of colors, smells, and tastes. They use fresh vegetables, healthy oils, lots of spices, and tasty herbs. Here are some things you’ll find in Lebanese food:
- Olive oil (healthy and flavorful!)
- Lemon juice (adds a fresh, tangy taste)
- Garlic (for a strong, yummy flavor)
- Chickpeas (which are used to prepare hummus and falafel)
- Parsley (a green herb served in most of the dishes)
The best part? Lebanese food is generally very healthy and is served to be shared. Folks sit together at the table, chat, laugh, and enjoy meals.
Why our meals rock
- Super yummy: Spices and sauces create a party in every bite.
- Good for your body: Plenty of vegetables, proteins, and grains.
- Easy for parents: Quick to serve, even on crazy nights.\
- Ideal for school lunches or dinners: We prepare food the way families in Lebanon have prepared it for years. It’s having a homemade meal from a loving grandma, without doing the cooking.
Welcome to Our Signature Favorites
Below are some of my favorite dishes from the Middle Eats. These are kid-friendly, parent-friendly, teacher-approved, and even picky-eater-approved!
- Shawarma Djej: This is a large bowl of delicious chicken that’s been made with tasty spices. It includes yellow rice, crispy pickled vegetables, and garlicky sauce. It’s not very spicy, so it’s ideal for children.
- Makhlouta: This is an extremely healthy meal made from whole grains. It also includes crispy fried onions on top. It has a slightly nutty and sweet taste. It’s ideal if you don’t eat meat.
- Fasolia Bi Zeit: Don’t worry if you don’t know what beans taste like, as this is a surprise! The beans are cooked in Tomato Sauce and served with Bread.
- Falafel Platter: Falafel are small round balls of chickpea. We fry them so they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Dip them in hummus or tahini sauce and enjoy with pita bread!
- Lamb Kibbeh: This one’s a Lebanese specialty. It’s made of meat and bulgur (grain), formed into small footballs, and stuffed with flavorful onions and spices. We serve it with a refreshing yogurt sauce.
